Open Letter to the Mayor of Phoenix

Honorable Mayor Gordon;

I am unsure why you seem to think that SB 1070 is bad for Arizona. It in no ways differs from the Federal laws and it certainly does not promote racial profiling as you state time after time to be a fact.

You represent the largest city in this state and you have ambitions of becoming the states governor, I have supported you for a very long time in your good times and bad times. However, in my so humble opinion you are out of your mind if you think telling other mayors, governors and municipal leaders from around the US that SB 1070 is wrong for the state and for the country.

The state of California has a much more severe immigration policy and I do not see you, their school teachers, and their state leaders boycotting California. My goodness the Mexican immigration policies and laws make SB 1070 look like a picnic and I don’t see you telling the Guatemalans, El Salvadorians or other Central American nations to boycott Mexico.

My friend, you are a hypocrite and on this issue I strongly encourage you to read the blasted SB 1070 for yourself and if you need to put the Federal law next to it and cross reference them together while reading it. Your ambitions to be Governor are blinding you and it is very apparent to those of us who live, work and attempt to do business in the state. I am offended that you feel as though that you are the spokesperson for this state, you are not. Until you are the Governor you are only a Mayor within the state and for that matter lately I too have become more and more unhappy with your efforts as the Mayor. It is unfortunate that many of us that thought of you as a person with integrity have been proven wrong by your actions and for that very reason I will not vote for you again.

I would like to say that this isn’t personal but Mayor, you made it personal when you decided to tell the people around the world that since I believe in SB 1070 I am a racist, a bigot, a Nazi and any other term which you have not defended on mine and others in this state and city who voted for you as Mayor.

But then as usual this is just One Clown’s opinion, but this clown isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

I hope I am still your friend and we can agree to disagree.
